How to send a WhatsApp message without saving the number?
Normally, WhatsApp requires you to save a contact on your phone before you can message them. This can clutter your phonebook with temporary contacts like delivery drivers, online sellers, or one-time business inquiries. WhatsJhom solves this with WhatsApp's own click-to-chat link.
- Step 1: Select the country code from the dropdown.
- Step 2: Enter the phone number you want to message.
- Step 3: Click "Chat Now". The WhatsApp app or WhatsApp Web opens a chat with that number, ready for you to type.
How it works
WhatsApp has a built-in "click to chat" feature: a link containing a phone number opens a chat with that number, whether or not it is in your contacts. When you press Chat Now, the tool checks the number, turns it into the international format WhatsApp expects (country code plus number, digits only), and opens a link like this:
https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=919876543210
That is the same feature behind the short wa.me links that businesses share. Nothing is
installed and no account is needed on this site.
Why use WhatsJhom?
Our tool is designed for speed, privacy, and convenience. It pre-selects your country from your approximate location and checks that the number is valid for that country before opening WhatsApp, so you don't end up in a chat with the wrong number. Whether you are using a mobile phone, tablet, or desktop PC, the transition to WhatsApp is seamless.
Number format tips
- Indian mobile numbers: keep the country set to India (+91) and type the 10-digit mobile number. It works with or without +91 or a leading 0.
- Spaces and dashes: you can paste a number as you received it, for example "98765 43210". Only the digits are used.
- Numbers from other countries: choose the country first, then type the number as it is written locally.
- Landline numbers: these only work if someone has set up WhatsApp, usually WhatsApp Business, on that number.
If WhatsApp says the number is invalid
If WhatsApp opens but says the phone number shared via the link is invalid, the number is either not registered on WhatsApp or has the wrong country code. Check the country in the dropdown, then confirm the number with the person. A number can be a valid mobile number and still not have a WhatsApp account.
Common uses
- Replying to a delivery partner, courier or cab driver.
- Contacting a seller or buyer from an online marketplace listing.
- Sending a document or photo to a print shop, tailor or repair shop.
- One-time enquiries to a plumber, electrician or other service provider.
Stay safe
Starting a chat shares your WhatsApp number, and your name and profile photo depending on your WhatsApp privacy settings, with the other person, just like any other message. Never share OTPs, UPI PINs or card details in a chat, and be wary of strangers who ask you to pay first or to click unfamiliar links.
Is it safe and private?
Yes. We do not store, track, or save any phone numbers you enter into this tool. The number is checked in your browser and goes straight into the WhatsApp link; there is no database saving your chat history or contacts. To pre-select your country, the page asks the ipapi.co service for your approximate country based on your IP address (it falls back to India if that fails). The phone number you type is never sent to that service.
Frequently asked questions
Will the person know I didn't save their number?
No. They receive a normal WhatsApp message from your number.
Does it work on a computer?
Yes. On a computer, the link opens WhatsApp Desktop if it is installed, or WhatsApp Web, where you sign in by scanning a QR code with your phone.
Can I add a ready-made message?
This tool opens an empty chat. If you want a link that fills in a message, for example for your customers, our business guide below shows how to build one.
