Civil Enginee ring

DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING
RAJIV GANDHI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, RESEARCH & TECHNOLOGY, CHANDRAPUR.

    This department initially, started as Department of Structural Engineering in 1983 with 60 seats. However the students passing out were feeling employment crunch due to this specialization at undergraduate level. In view of above, we switched over to Civil Engineering Stream.
Thus the department of Civil Engineering came into existence from 1987-1988 session with 30 seats with an aim to provide value added education to the students so as to develop at Horne their skills in civil engineering field to serve the country. Now the intake capacity of the department is 60.

    The department progressed consistently and now housed in a separate building wherein we are currently sitting with office, faculty chambers, laboratories, computing center etc.

    The Department has 10 Laboratories and team of experienced and permanent faculty and non-teaching supporting staff. The faculty is working with dedication with most of them having completed their post graduation while in service. Four staff members have registered for Ph. D. and one staff member has already awarded the degree.

    The department has been accredited by NBA-AICTE in Feb. 2005 for 3 years.

    The staff is also doing testing/consultancy work of various Govt./Semi Govt./Private organization regularly.

    Industrial waste utilization center has also been established in the Department.
